KANSAS City Chiefs rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy could see a big fine coming his way.
Referees in the Chiefs-Houston Texans game decided that Worthy took a celebration too far.

Worthy scored early in the contest, giving the Chiefs a 6-0 lead over the Texans, and celebrated his touchdown accordingly.
After catching the pass from Patrick Mahomes, Worthy teamed up with Marquise Brown for a Christmas-themed celebration.
The celebration appeared to be mimicking the Grinch, as Worthy and Brown acted out taking presents from underneath a tree.
While that act wasn’t worthy of a penalty, the final phase of the celebration was.
When he was done taking presents, Worthy pulled up his shirt to show his waistband as if he was an armed robber.
That action saw a 15-yard penalty come in that ultimately caused Harrison Butker to miss the extra point.
The NFL has been cracking down on celebrations that insinuate the use of firearms, handing out big fines for “violent gestures.”
Worthy has already been subjected to one of these fines that hit $11,255.
He earned that penalty for pointing finger guns at Cincinnati Bengals safety Vonn Bell.
While Worthy likely has another hefty fine coming his way, many NFL fans came to his defense on social media.
“I don’t get it. Just seemed like a normal endzone celebration to me??” one fan said.
“I didn’t see any issues with the cele,” another fan said.
“Call makes no sense,” a third fan said.
“Apparently you can’t pretend to be the Grinch,” a fourth fan said.
“Looks like he was stealing presents but I don’t get what’s wrong with that,” a fifth fan said.

While he may need to work on his celebrations, Worthy appears to have broken out in the Chiefs offense in the last few weeks.
He now has 742 total yards on the season and nine total touchdowns.
Worthy leads all NFL rookies in touchdowns this season.
With only one game left in the season and the No. 1 seed in the AFC already locked up for the Chiefs, Worthy likely won’t hit the 1,000-yard mark this season though.
He would need over 250 yards in the team’s final game of the year.
