The Chinese social platform Xiaohongshu, also known as the RedNote, has gained around 700,000 new users in just a few days as TikTok users seek alternatives, according to The Guardian. An anonymous source close to Xiaohongshu told eeo.com that the platform’s internal team began working overtime on January 13 to optimize features for foreign users in a bid to capture this surge in traffic. At the same time, compliance and security teams are also ramping up their efforts.
