Xiaomi announced on Friday a voluntary recall of 146,891 units of its PB2030MI power bank, produced between August 1 and September 22, 2024. The recall was initiated after certain units using a 126280-type 2.0 battery cell from a supplier were found to pose overheating and fire risks under extreme conditions. The company has filed the recall with the Beijing Municipal Administration for Market Regulation and will provide consumers with a full refund based on the retail price of RMB 159 ($22). Customers can check whether their device is affected by entering the serial number on the Xiaomi Store app or by calling the customer service hotline. [IThome, in Chinese]
