THE MLB has indefinitely banned the ill-famed New York Yankees fans who interfered with Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts during the World Series.
The two Yankees fans tried to take the ball out of Betts’ hand during Game 4 of the World Series at Yankee Stadium back in October.
It was revealed that the fans, Austin Capobianco and John P. Hanson, have been banned from all 30 of MLB’s stadiums after they made extended contact with Betts.
The MLB sent a letter to the two Yankees fans which was received by The Post on Friday.
“Your conduct posed a serious risk to the health and safety of the player and went far over the line of acceptable fan behavior. Based on your conduct, Major League Baseball is banning you indefinitely from all MLB stadium, offices, and other facilities,” the letter read.
The MLB also wrote in the letter that if either party is seen at any of the big league’s properties or events, they will be removed and subject to arrest for trespassing.
During Game 4 of the World Series, Betts leaped and caught a Gleyber Torres fly ball near the right field stands.
However, after the catch, the two Bronx Bombers fans grabbed his glove and attempted to pry the ball out of his mitt.
MLB banned Capobianco and Hanson from attending Game 5 the following day in the Bronx.
The pair of fans were using the seats of a season ticket holder, who has owned the tickets since 1990, and wasn’t in attendance in Game 4 and was allowed to keep them.
“The safety and security of players, fans, and Stadium staff is the foundational element of every event held at Yankee Stadium, and it cannot be compromised,” the Yankees said in a statement about their actions at the time.
The decision to ban Capobianco and Hanson from The House That Ruth Built was made jointly by the Yankees and MLB, per The Post, and the league banned the two from all MLB parks.
After Game 4, Capobianco told ESPN that he expected to attend the following WS game.
The fan also revealed that he and Peter had long prepared for interfering with a player.
“I patrol that wall and they know that,” Capobiano said in an interview with the outlet.
The Dodgers won Game 5 and clinched the World Series title.
Betts wasn’t afraid to slam the two Yankees fans for their decision.
“That was wild, man, That was really wild. I’ve never experience anything like that. I was telling my wife that was like the second time in my life I’ve ever wanted to fight someone,” the eight-time MLB All-Star told Fox.
Betts won his third World Series title.
The 2025 MLB season will begin on March 27.
