The cat who explains quantum mechanics
In 1935, the Austrian physicist Erwin Schrödinger developed a thought experiment. A cat sits in a closed box. Also inside is a radioactive atom, a detector and a poison vial. If the atom decays, the detector releases the poison and the cat dies. If it doesn’t decay, she stays alive.
