Just two days ago I had no idea what was to come. Because I didn’t see the cause of the catastrophe, but initially only parts of its impact: the smoke. The fire.
Purely by chance I was standing in the living room. I hadn’t heard anything about the quadruple glazing. Not a single noise gets inside.
What is it: It’s about technology, it’s sometimes exciting, sometimes disturbing, sometimes amusing and very rarely has a happy ending? That’s right: the c’t story. It has had a permanent place in the magazine for a good 37 years – and for some time now also on heise+. Sometimes it comes from the pens of award-winning fiction professionals, sometimes the authors are top-class scientists – or idiosyncratic young science fiction debutants. Many of our c’t story authors have won renowned prizes for their works in recent years, such as the Kurd Laßwitz Prize (KLP) or the German Science Fiction Prize (DSFP).
But now I’m wondering what sounds I…well, missed. Loud bang? Thunderclaps that go through your bones?
