In combination with the smaller screen, Google’s smartphone simply lasts longer than its competitor. In fact, in my own comparison tests, the Pixel 10a lasted 18 percent longer on a single charge when playing the same video in an endless loop.
The Pixel 10a can also use wireless charging. A practical function that the Galaxy A57 simply lacks.
However, Samsung is ahead when it comes to wired charging speed. With its 45 watts, it significantly outperforms the Pixel 10a with its 30 watts. It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes for the Pixel 10a to fully charge, while the Galaxy A57 takes about 20 minutes less.
Winner: Google Pixel 10a
Do you want a smartphone that feels like a flagship?
Both smartphones are well made, with aluminum frames and IP68 water resistance.
However, I would give the Galaxy A57 a slight advantage in terms of look and feel: While the Pixel 10a reveals its mid-range character with its plastic back and cheap-looking camera module, the Samsung Galaxy A57 could almost be confused with the Galaxy S26 series.

The Galaxy A57 features Gorilla Glass Victus on the front and back, has a protruding camera module and overall gives the impression of a high-quality device.
Samsung has also refined the design of the A57 so that it is significantly slimmer (6.9 millimeters versus 9 millimeters) than its competitor. Despite its significantly larger dimensions, it is actually a few grams lighter.
Winner: Samsung Galaxy A57
Are you looking for the best performance?
None of these smartphones are performance champions. But if you’re looking for a device that needs to feel fast for longer, the Pixel 10a is the better choice.
However, the result was not absolutely clear. We were a little disappointed that Google only included the one-year-old Tensor G4 chip in its latest mid-range model. Instead, Samsung relies on the brand new Exynos 1680 chip.

In addition, the CPU performance is about the same level. Both smartphones handle everyday tasks quite smoothly.
Where the Pixel 10a comes out on top is in GPU performance. This is a class above that of its competitor. But Samsung’s improved cooling system can also be a real advantage during longer gaming sessions.
Google’s additional year of software support and the fact that the company has complete mastery of both software and hardware gives the Pixel 10a the edge.
Samsung Galaxy A57 vs. Google Pixel 10a: Fazit
A quick look at the respective evaluation results shows that the Google Pixel 10a is probably the better smartphone for most users.
The results are still not clear. For some buyers, the Samsung smartphone could be the better choice. The Samsung smartphone is larger, which makes it more suitable for media consumption. Its refined design also looks and feels better than the Pixel’s.
The Pixel 10a, on the other hand, impresses with its cheaper starting price, superior performance, longer battery life and the option for wireless charging. The advantage that Google enjoys from managing the Android platform should not be underestimated either.
Before you buy, however, you should study our detailed test reports on the Google Pixel 10a and the Samsung Galaxy A57.
Alternatively, don’t buy one of the two smartphones presented and instead grab a brand new Google Pixel 9a for 399 euros. Or you can take a look at our overview of the best mid-range cell phones under 500 euros.
But in a direct comparison, the Pixel 10a is the winner. However, the result was pretty close.
