At first glance, the Dyad Pro Combo presents itself as the Dyad Pro. It has exactly the same shape and an almost identical design (except for an additional handle that appears at the front). The same goes for its charging station, which is also used for washing and drying the rollers. A second support hangs on the right or left of the main base, as desired. It carries the accessories which are used to transform the device into a broom vacuum cleaner or a hand vacuum cleaner. This obviously takes up a little more space, but it’s pretty well optimized.

The extra multifunction vacuum cleaner: the good idea
We therefore find a metal tube, a large motorized brush for cleaning floors, a mini turbo-brush, a two-in-one long nozzle with brush head and a dust collector containing a filter and a filtration block. A crevice nozzle for furniture is missing, but the set is already complete enough to vacuum floors and different surfaces (cushions, sofas, mattresses, interior of a vehicle, air vents, etc.) .
To transform the Dyad Pro Combo into a vacuum cleaner, you must detach the part comprising the motor and the battery, to connect it to the collector then to the accessories – hence the appearance of a handle on this block. This is quite clever on the part of Roborock, because it avoids delivering additional elements but above all seeing the cost of the device soar. By reusing the same battery and the same motor, the manufacturer manages to control the Price of its Dyad Pro Combo, which costs only a hundred euros more (€549 compared to €449 for the Dyad Pro) to have a multifunction vacuum cleaner in complement.
On paper, the idea of providing everything necessary to transform the device into a more traditional stick vacuum cleaner is excellent. We criticized the Dyad Pro – and vacuum cleaners in general – for not being able to completely replace a vacuum cleaner. In fact, these devices are much heavier, more “clumsy”, while their large and thick washing head does not fit easily into corners. In addition, most vacuum cleaners should not be tilted at the risk of dirty water flowing out or mixing with clean water. All these constraints linked to the architecture of these devices prevent access to corners, nooks and small spaces and to clean under certain pieces of furniture such as sofas and coffee tables in particular. This requires completing the cleaning by vacuuming, which requires being absolutely equipped with it. Note, however, that this has evolved a little since our test of the Dyad Pro because several models on the market can be completely lying down to vacuum and wash under furniture – this is particularly the case for references from Roborock’s recent Flexi range.
In any case, this new version that can be transformed into a stick vacuum cleaner and a hand vacuum cleaner is in fact much more versatile than the “simple” Dyad Pro.
In the field, a rather effective broom vacuum cleaner, but not very practical
While the idea is great, the implementation is not perfect. First, you need to assemble the stick vacuum cleaner. However, although the motor/battery unit detaches from the vacuum cleaner without any problem, we had difficulty clipping it onto the dedicated collector. You have to feel around to find the right position and force a little.
Then, the part comprising the handle, the motor unit and the battery weighs 1.2 kg alone (and 1.6 kg with its collector, in hand vacuum cleaner configuration). All “harnessed” to tackle floor cleaning, the stick vacuum weighs almost 2.7 kg. In absolute terms, it’s not that heavy but all the weight is grouped in the upper part and weighs on the arm.
Furthermore, the shape is quite confusing since once the device is transformed into a stick vacuum cleaner, you find yourself with the handle on top (hence the feeling of weight pulling on the arm). When you clean in front of you, it’s not very inconvenient – it’s even practical when you place the vacuum cleaner on the ground to clean under a sofa or a piece of furniture, for example. On the other hand, when you want to raise the vacuum cleaner to vacuum in a small space, it is really not practical. For the hand vacuum cleaner, the same, certain positions are quite uncomfortable, requiring you to raise your elbow to reach certain corners.
In addition, due to this shape, the screen is under the hand and oriented towards the rear, so that we no longer have any visibility on the autonomy (indicated as a percentage in steps of 5%), nor on the mode display. Note also that “auto” mode does not work in vacuum cleaner configuration. This is actually a normal suction mode, supplemented by a turbo mode.
Another disadvantage: the start/stop and mode change buttons are located on the lower part of the handle, not easily visible or accessible in this configuration. Finally, we noticed that the brush was not very flexible or well articulated. If you turn it a little too much, it comes off the ground.
The Dyad Pro Combo is a little noisy, but not overly so. As for its effectiveness, no problem when equipped with its accessories, in particular motorized brushes. On hard floors, it easily vacuums up hair, animal hair or dust as well as slightly thicker waste such as mineral cat litter. For larger waste, such as kibble, it may be necessary to iron several times. Likewise, on rugs and carpets, efficiency is there even if the main brush tends to catch slightly, making the use of the vacuum cleaner a little less comfortable on this covering than on hard floors. Normal mode is usually sufficient.
On the other hand, if you have to unhook the main brush to vacuum in small spaces, you lose a lot of suction efficiency; the device hardly even sucks up anything, even when switching on turbo mode.
Roborock announces a battery life of 60 minutes. For cleaning the floors, in normal mode, we measured 44 minutes, which can be sufficient, especially if you use the vacuum cleaner in addition to the vacuum cleaner, to refine the corners and under furniture.
Finally, a word about emptying the dust collector (465 ml), which is not very inviting. Roborock has not provided a hatch; you have to take out the motor block and the filter from the top, using a handle, which can create a draft of air and cause dust to fly.
In short, the vacuum cleaner provided is a good complement, but it is far from equal to a good mid-range stick vacuum cleaner in terms of performance, practicality and ergonomics.
Vacuum cleaner: take the same one (or almost) and start again
As for the vacuum cleaner, it is very similar to the Dyad Pro, of which you can read our full test for more details. The characteristics are identical: suction power (17,000 Pa), announced autonomy (43 min), the promise of edge-to-edge cleaning with margins of less than 1 mm, a self-cleaning system for the rollers then drying with hot air to avoid odors, an automatic mode which adjusts the power and water flow (coupled with a Led indicator on the screen to know if it is necessary to insist or if the floor is clean) , an automatic detergent dispenser, voice alerts and possible control via the Roborock application (which also allows you to modify certain parameters).
We still appreciate its effectiveness in vacuuming (liquids and waste of all types) and washing hard floors, even if it may sometimes be necessary to go over the most stubborn stains several times. Its convenient parking position is also one of its strong points. The efficient self-cleaning of the rollers is another advantage of this model, although we must remember that it does not completely eliminate the chore of cleaning. Emptying the collector and cleaning it are always difficult tasks (for all scrubbers). Note in passing that Roborock has abandoned the sieve found in the Dyad Pro collector, which was used to filter thick waste.
With a little gain in weight all the same
If the architecture is generally similar, Roborock had to change the location of the water tank. In fact, on the Dyad Pro, this element was installed right under the screen. However, this location is now reserved for the detachable block including the motor and the battery. The tank is therefore relegated to the rear. Vertical in shape, it gains a little in capacity (950 ml compared to 900 ml for that of the Dyad Pro). The dirty water collector always contains 770 ml.
Another important change: the Dyad Pro Combo has gained further weight. We already found the Dyad Pro quite heavy, even if its self-propelled system relieves a little and it is rather well balanced: when weighed, it weighed 5.8 kg with the water tank full. In the same configuration, the Dyad Pro Combo weighs 6.4 kg. At a time when most manufacturers are looking to make their scrubbers lighter, we regret it.
Where to buy it?
