A complete compilation to take everywhere
When it was launched, Capcom’s new compilation will (re) discover eight cult combat games:
- Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001
- Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 Pro
- Capcom Fighting Evolution
- Street Fighter Alpha 3 UPPER
- Project Justice (Rival Schools 2)
- Power Stone
- Power Stone 2
- Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein (Star Gladiator 2)
On our side, we were able to spend time on all titles except Power Stone et Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein. And despite the absence of part of the content, the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 already seemed very exhaustive. Discovering these great classics of the arcade since the comfort of your living room allows them to be fully appreciated, without any restrictions. No need to spit credits to survive the different modes of the game! However, the most nostalgic can still have fun simulating this system of limited attempts via new “EX parameters”To which we will come back later.
Each game offers its dose of adrenaline, but also offers a different approach to the genre of Fighting Game, enough to find at least one title that will appeal to everyone during evenings between friends. One of the main assets of this collection nevertheless lies in its portability, made possible thanks to its launch on Switch and Steam. Gamers equipped with the Nintendo console or a PC console (whether it is a steam deck, a Rog Ally …) will be able to enjoy the arcade and addictive gameplay of these games, everywhere, all the time, and even take their game for local multiplayer games.
Improved comfort and more features
Inevitably, the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 Do not just stuff retro games in a modern packaging billed € 39.99. It also offers many adjustments to make the experience more pleasant than ever. In the menu of “EX parameters”Veterans will be able to enjoy experimenting with different modifiers specific to each game, such as the option of unlocking the secret characters without further delay, or even changing the style of visuals and music.
But it is above all the attention paid to accessibility which makes this compilation a very nice surprise. Thanks to additional modes and features, such as training mode, fast backups or shortcuts allowing the special blows of a single pressure, combat games can also be appreciated by beginners.
Additional content typical of this kind of collection, such as an art gallery and a musical reader, is also present and deserves to be mentioned. However, we are careful not to reveal the surprises you can discover there.
Online games without any lag
Last reason why we advise you to play Capcom Fighting Collection 2 And certainly the most important: online experience. Combresses of combat games know how bad servers and an unsuitable netcode can make online clashes unplayable, and therefore deprive the game in question of its major interest. But this is not the case here. Capcom had made the promise of a netcode rollback in the announcement trailer broadcast last year and it is clear that online fights are very well mastered.
Although it is impossible to reproduce the latency of a local match, the online services offered by the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 get closer to the best they can. Each title of the compilation is playable online and offers different adapted modes: vs against friends, classified matchmaking or even score challenges with a global ranking. Suffice to say that with this compilation of cult combat games, it is difficult to be bored in both local and line mode.
Meet it May 16 To kick off a memorable fight, on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and PC.
