As summer’s winding down, now feels like the perfect opportunity to plan your fall viewing. If you’re a Prime Video subscriber, you’ll be pleased to know the streaming service is bringing us tons of new shows to get stuck into before we say goodbye to 2025.

Having looked ahead at what’s still to come from Prime Video’s schedule (as of August 28, 2025), I’ve pulled out five shows that I’m particularly looking forward to streaming this year. Before I go on, though, I’ll address one glaring omission: “Gen V” season 2.

I know that the show starts streaming on Prime Video from September 17, and that it’s surely at the top of fans’ fall watchlist, but I came to “The Boys” very late, and I’m still playing catch-up on the show. Thus, “Gen V” season 2 won’t be on my radar for a little while yet: that’s why it’s not in the running.

With that out of the way, here are the five Prime Video shows I’m most looking forward to streaming over the coming months, and when they’re set to premiere.

‘Fallout’ season 2 (December 17)

Watch On

The Wastelands of the “Fallout” franchise aren’t exactly the most welcoming place, but after the first season of Prime Video’s excellent video game adaptation, I’ve been beyond excited to return to this anarchic, post-apocalyptic series.

Picking up in the aftermath of that epic season finale, “Fallout” season 2 will take us to the Mojave and to the neon-drenched streets of New Vegas, reuniting us with Lucy (Ella Purnell), “The Ghoul”/Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins), and Maximus (Aaron Moten) for even more action later this year. Expect more drama, more chaos, and more revelations when the series returns.

‘Harlan Coben’s Lazarus’ (October 22)

If your streaming diet consists of many suspenseful shows, you’ll likely know the name Harlan Coben; his work has been brought to our screens plenty of times already in shows like “Fool Me Once,” “Missing You”, and more.

Yesterday (August 27), Prime Video teased us with a premiere date and first-look photos for a brand-new thriller from Coben and Danny Brocklehurst (“Fool Me Once”, “Brassic”), and it’s bound to be another compelling watch. This six-part thriller follows Joel Lazarus (Sam Claflin), who returns home after his father, Dr. Jonathan Lazarus (Bill Nighy), dies by suicide.

That return sees him experiencing disturbing things that can’t be explained, and tangling Joel up in a series of cold case murders as he grapples with the mystery of his father’s death and his sister’s murder over two decades ago.

‘Hotel Costiera’ (September 24)

Watch On

“Hotel Costiera” has been on my radar ever since the teaser trailer arrived a few months back, as it looks like a breezy action-drama that’ll make for a fun getaway.

The six-part series whisks us away to Italy’s beautiful Amalfi Coast. There, we meet Daniel De Luca (Jesse Williams), a half-Italian former Marine who returns to the land of his childhood to work as a fixer for the guests of one of the world’s most luxurious hotels.

In addition to handling their problems, Daniel’s also on the trail of Alice, the missing daughter of one of the hotel’s owners who was kidnapped a month ago… but facing her kidnappers proves to be his biggest challenge.

‘The Girlfriend’ (September 10)

Watch On

“The Girlfriend” is a six-part psychological thriller series arriving in just under two weeks’ time, and it looks to be a twisty battle of wits that’ll draw us in.

Based on Michelle Frances’ novel of the same name, “The Girlfriend” throws us into a tense conflict between two women: doting mother Laura (Robin Wright) and her son’s new girlfriend, Cherry (Olivia Cooke).

Laura looks like she has it all: glittering career, a loving husband, and a precious son, but when Daniel (Laurie Davidson) brings Cherry home, everything’s turned upside down, as she suspects Cherry’s hiding something. Is Laura right, or is she just paranoid? Time will tell…

‘The Mighty Nein’ (November 19)

Watch On

If you’re not familiar with the phenomenon that is “Critical Role,” it’s a long-running actual-play Dungeons & Dragons campaign featuring Matthew Mercer and a “bunch of nerdy-ass voice actors” (his words) that’s become a multimedia sensation.

Prime Video is already home to three seasons’ worth of adults-only animated antics from the group’s first campaign, “The Legend of Vox Machina,” but we’re due to meet a new band of heroes this November.

Introducing: The Mighty Nein, stars of Critical Role’s second fantasy saga. This loveable, ragtag set of fugitives and outcasts band together to save the realm after a powerful relic falls into the wrong hands.
