Nothing has launched its new smartphone, the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite, on October 29. With this launch, the London-based company is expanding its portfolio to reach a wider audience by offering its signature transparent design and clean software experience at a more affordable price. The Phone (3a) Lite promises a combination of premium design, strong performance, and AI-powered features designed to enhance everyday usability.

Design and Display

The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite maintains the brand’s recognizable transparent design but introduces a more minimal and refined look this time. It is available in White and Black with a durable glass body, an aluminum frame for extra rigidity, and IP54-rated dust and water resistance. The phone features a large 6.77-inch flexible AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution (1080 X 2392), a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and an impressive 3000 nits of peak brightness. The screen supports 10-bit color depth and 2160Hz PWM dimming, ensuring smooth visuals and reduced eye strain during prolonged use.

Camera Capabilities

The smartphone sports a triple-camera setup led by a 50MP main sensor using Samsung’s 1/1.57-inch sensor. Nothing claims that it captures 64% more light compared to most phones in this price range. It also integrates the company’s TrueLens Engine 4.0 from the flagship Phone (3) for advanced image processing. The camera supports Ultra XDR, Night Mode, Portrait Mode, Macro Mode, and Motion Capture. For selfies and video calls, the front houses a 16MP camera capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps.

Processor and Performance

Under the hood, the Phone (3a) Lite runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro chipset built on a 4nm process. It is paired with 8GB RAM (expandable virtually up to 16GB) and comes in 128GB and 256GB storage options, expandable up to 2TB via microSD. The device runs Nothing OS 3.5, based on Android 15, with features like Smart Drawer, Private Space, and App Locker. The company has promised three years of Android updates and six years of security patches.

Battery and Charging

Powering the device is a 5000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging, capable of reaching 50% charge in about 20 minutes. It also supports 5W reverse wired charging for smaller accessories.

Price and Availability

The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite will be available starting October 29 on nothing.tech in select markets. The pricing starts at £249 / €249 for the 8GB + 128GB variant and £279 / €279 for the 8GB + 256GB model. Pricing and availability for the Indian market will be revealed soon.
