Australian Woolworths has over 1,000 supermarkets across the country. Annually, 24 million home deliveries are made and over 17 million pick-up and direct-to-boat orders are prepared. The collaboration with Ortec will focus on a more efficient use of its own delivery fleet and external delivery services such as Uber and Doordash.
A dynamic allocation model will be introduced, so that the fixed capacity can be used optimally and routes can be better planned. In this way, the optimal delivery point and vehicle type can be selected for not only maximum efficiency. Customers can choose from flexible time schedules.
Alistair Venn, Director of Last Mile at Woolworths Group, said: “Ortec’s innovative approach, reputation and track record were key to our decision. We are excited about the opportunities it offers to enhance our delivery operations and increase convenience for our customers.”
George Ninikas, SVP Sales & Accounts at Ortec, added: ”The partnership with Woolworths is a significant milestone for Ortec. This collaboration illustrates our commitment to innovation and excellence in e-grocery. We are confident that with our advanced technology and expertise, Woolworths will be able to achieve maximum operational efficiency and provide its customers with an exceptional delivery experience.”
