The Windows 11 operating system is entering a new important stage in its history with version 24H2. This major update is full of new features around AI and Microsoft has just taken the floor to announce the launch of an improved version of Copilot.
The artificial intelligence solution, which really took off this year, is evolving to become “an AI companion for everyone”. Microsoft’s new head of AI, Mustafa Suleyman, insists on this notion of making artificial intelligence accessible to everyone. “In the field of AI, we often get lost in the technical details. We spend our time talking about parameters and calculations (…) This is natural and inevitable when working on the frontier of something new, where the details really matter. But I think it’s important that as we do all of this, as we dive into the technical details, we don’t lose sight of not only what we’re building, but why we’re building it.”he explains.

The Redmond firm does not just talk about its vision in terms of AI and announces several new features for Copilot. They are intended for mobile, web and computer versions.
Copilot Voice
The first big new feature is called Copilot Voice. It provides natural voice interaction with the assistant, which was previously lacking in Copilot. Microsoft offers to choose between four different voices.
Copilot Daily
The AI assistant offers a personalized daily summary of the latest news and weather, all read with the Copilot voice of your choice. Microsoft mentions partnerships with recognized sources such as Reuters, Axel Springer, Hearst Magazine or the Financial Times.
Personalized Discover
Copilot Discover will offer conversation suggestions or even a guide to useful features adapted to the user. The tool will be able to personalize the experience – with your consent – based on your habits with other Microsoft services or your conversation history.
Copilot Vision
This new feature is one of the most ambitious and brings a new way of interacting with your computer. As the name suggests, Copilot Vision sees what you see and can tell you about it in real time. The tool is able to understand the web page you are viewing, including text and images, in order to answer your questions.
He can also advise you on what you see on the screen, such as when decorating a new apartment.
Think Deeper
With Think Deeper, Microsoft wants to raise the debate by allowing Copilot to reason about more complex questions. This solution requires the AI to take longer to respond, but it promises detailed answers to difficult questions. The firm explains that Think Deeper can compare two options or help with complex matters such as moving (“Should I move to this city or another?”), choose a car (“What type of car best suits my needs? »). This skill is still under development and has the status of an experimental function.
Finally, we note that the Copilot application is getting a makeover on Android and iOS. At the same time, generative search is rolling out on Bing starting today, but the function is still in development and its arrival only concerns the United States.
Copilot in Microsoft Edge
Microsoft continues to make its browser more “smart” by making Copilot easier to access. Already available in Edge, you just need to enter @copilot in the address bar to access it.
Some features won’t arrive right away
The rollout of these new features begins today on various platforms, with availability varying by region and language. However, you will have to be patient before discovering all these new AI features.
- Copilot Voice is initially available in English, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Other regions and languages will follow soon.
- Copilot Daily is rolling out starting today in the US and UK, with more countries coming soon.
- Copilot customization complies with Microsoft’s privacy statement, and users can opt out at any time in Settings. “We are still finalizing customization options for users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom”says Microsoft
- Copilot Vision will soon be deployed in Copilot Labs and will be available to a limited number of Copilot Pro subscribers in the United States.
- Think Deeper begins rolling out today through Copilot Labs to a limited number of Copilot Pro users in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
We are now used to it, France and Europe are not at the front line when it comes to new developments linked to AI.
