Angell Mobility has just informed its customers and the public of the immediate recall of its first generation electric bicycles, following the detection of isolated cases of frame breakage. Angell immediately launched an in-depth analysis of the affected bikes and although the final conclusions of this analysis are pending, the manufacturer suspects that the frame bonding process could be involved in these incidents.
Therefore, as a precautionary measure and in the interest of the safety of its customers, Angell Mobility asks all owners of first generation bicycles (Rapide and Cruiser) to immediately cease their use. This recommendation does not apply to the latest generation bikes: MINI E-Bike 1, Rapide Core, Rapide +.
“We do everything we can, in collaboration with our partners, to find a quick and effective solution as quickly as possible. We thank our customers for their understanding and loyalty. Their safety remains our top priority.” said John Mollanger, CEO / Managing Director of Angell Mobility.
Customers can go to the manufacturer’s website to:
- Check if their bike is one of the affected models
- Consult all the information on the latest updates
- Sign up to receive these updates directly by email
Note that for people who have offered or resold their bicycle to an individual, it is advisable to contact them to inform them of the potential risks and ask them to immediately stop using the bicycle…
