MICHAEL Strahan announced a new career venture in motorsports live on Fox NFL Sunday.
Michael Strahan is joining Indycar for a special event in the 2025 season.
During Week 12’s episode of Fox NFL Sunday, the cast of the show announced that Fox will host the Indianapolis 500 in 2025.
As part of the announcement, Curt Menefee shared that Michal Strahan will participate in the race.
“Michael Strahan is actually going to drive the Indy 500 this year,” Menefee said.
While Strahan isn’t driving an actual Indycar, he’s driving in the pace car that will lead the drivers around the track before the race starts.
“I can’t get into it,” Strahan said pointing at the Indycar.
Strahan led his cohosts away from the race car and over to the pace car to explain how he will be driving in the race.
“Corvette ZR1, this is my ride right here,” he said.
“I’m going to drive the pace car, I love this car, this is rad!”
Strahan revealed that he doesn’t know how fast he will be allowed to drive, but that he is excited to lead the pack.
“I don’t know Curt, I don’t know if they’re gonna limit me or what,” he said.
“But I’m gonna see what we got here, I know this is a great car.
“I know I got all the drivers behind me because I’m leading the pace.
“We’re gonna see if they can keep up.”
Menefee shared that he thought it was extremely cool that Strahan gets to drive the car around the track instead of sitting in the passenger seat.
The 2025 Indy 500 is the 109th running of the race, and will take place on Sunday, May 25.
Josef Newgarden has won the last two races and will look to make it a threepeat next year.
