MCDONALD’s fans have been left frustrated after discovering a key breakfast item has disappeared from the menu, with the restaurant blaming equipment issues.
A customer recently took to social media to share their disappointment, writing: “Why can’t I get a hot caramel macchiato anywhere around me?”.
The fast-food giant has since clarified the issue, revealing that some restaurants are experiencing equipment problems preventing them from serving the popular drink.
The hot caramel macchiato has been a go-to choice for breakfast lovers, offering a warm caffeine boost to start the day.
But customers are now left scrambling to find alternative options as some branches temporarily suspend its availability.
A McDonald’s spokesperson said: “We love our espresso based beverages as much as you do.
“That’s why we’re working with our supplier to move as quickly as possible to resolve the equipment issue.”
It’s unclear how many stores are affected, but fans have taken to social media to vent their frustrations.
The macchiato mishap follows a previous coffee-related hiccup earlier this month.
The restaurant has assured customers it’s looking into the discrepancy with their recent coffee orders.
Those who bought the fast food giant’s affordable morning staple were expecting a different cup design than what they got.

Despite the hot caramel macchiato’s temporary absence in some areas, McDonald’s still offers a wide variety of breakfast options, ranging from McMuffins and McRiddles to biscuits and oatmeal.
