Zyxel Networks embraces computer security to continue growing in SMEs. After registering strong growth (above 15%) in the last two years, Gonzalo Echeverría, country manager of the company for the Iberian market, explained that 2024 has been a year of “flat growth”, but in which Zyxel has found new arguments to stand out in 2o25 in an increasingly competitive environment.
Among the most notable, the development of the new NIS2 regulation that will also affect smaller companies and the unexpected demand for Wi-Fi 7 equipment, of which Echevarría himself has assured that it could represent up to 30% of sales in this type of devices for the next year.
Precisely to reinforce the security of companies, the Taiwanese multinational has also presented new functionalities in the USGFLEX with the Zyxel USGFLEX Ultimate H series of firewalls to provide greater and more advanced protection in the cloud. In this sense and thanks to the new AI capabilities that the company includes in its software, companies can identify and protect themselves against new or unknown threats on the network.
Thus, the Zyxel USGFLEX Ultimate H series features content filtering functions, including IP verification with cloud-synchronized categories that are continually updated by an ever-evolving cloud. Meanwhile, CDR (Collaborative Detection & Response) allows network devices to work together to block or quarantine compromised devices/clients at the edge of the network. And anti-malware and ransomware protection reinforces the latest threats, all centrally.
As the manager has also explained, the new firewalls use advanced threat detection and prevention technologies to defend against sophisticated cyber threats such as ransomware, malware, zero-day exploits and advanced persistent threats (APT). They also incorporate a new Intrusion Detection and Prevention System (IDPS) that monitors network traffic for malicious activities.
Regarding the company’s business in our country, Echeverría has announced that the company will abandon its 100% channel strategy, to also begin to develop a direct sales model in some selected projects. It has also indicated that it is expected that in 2025 a new wholesaler will become part of its partner program, with the aim of strengthening its position both in Spain and especially in Portugal.
