Samsung is expected to launch three new Galaxy S25 models in late January at another of its signature “Galaxy Unpacked” events. Thanks to some timely leaks, excitement in the community is building. Now we have more information on the design of the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+.
The Galaxy S25 Tray Tells A Tale
Images of the physical SIM trays have been published. Thanks to the the end caps of the removable fixture being colour-matched to the handset, we have a clear look at five potential colours under consideration for next year’s flagship smartphone family.
As you might expect, there is a dark grey option that is as close to black as possible, a deep dark blue, pastel tones of purple and green, and a silver option that will likely be seen as the white option. No doubt Samsung’s marketing team will come up with some snappy descriptions that we’ll find out closer to the time.
The SIM trays for the Galaxy S25 Ultra are not on show. Samsung has traditionally offered more subdued colors with the Ultra handsets, choosing to use the names and shades to promote the use of titanium in the chassis. That’s not to say that similar colorways won’t appear on the S25 Ultra compared to the S25 and S25+, but they may not pop as much on the Ultra.
Why The Galaxy S25 Colors Are Important
Cosmetic details may not be measurable through online benchmarks or reviewer soak tests, yet they remain a key part of any smartphone’s sales package. New colors can bring more attention to a new smartphone, and something as simple as a colour that matches a preference or outfit can help sway opinions.
While the geekerati focuses on the impact of generative AI (which will be updated to the next generation of Galaxy AI at the launch event) and draw direct comparisons to new AI software from Google and Apple, the fashionistas will watch for a seasonal splash of color.
