In the exclusive world of hyper sports cars, few brands arouse as much admiration as Bugatti and the mark of exclusivity that the brand founded by Ettore Bugatti leaves in every element that makes up its cars. Of the entire Bugatti catalogue, there is one that shines with a special light: the Bugatti Centodieci.
This limited edition, created to pay tribute to the classic Bugatti EB110 and EB110 Super Sport in commemoration of the brand’s 110th anniversary, has only ten units manufactured worldwide. That makes the Centodieci a museum piece exclusively for millionaires’ garages. It was presented in 2019 with a sale Price of 8 million euros.
Car for sale. One of the lucky owners who was selected by the brand to Buy one of the ten units has decided to put it up for sale. Specifically, it is unit number 6 that was delivered to its owner in September 2022, and will go up for auction at Sotheby’s in Paris next February. His starting bid: between 10 and 15 million euros, to which taxes would have to be added.
That means that, in just three years, its owner could obtain a profit of 46.67% without practically lifting a finger. Now that’s profitability, and it’s no surprise that Cristiano Ronaldo was one of the lucky ones who also has a Centodieci in his collection. This type of auction reflects the enormous interest in exclusive cars. The scarcity, design and power of these vehicles make them safe investments for many millionaires.
few kilometers. The Centodieci is a gem that many would pay to drive, however, it seems its original owner didn’t like it too much. According to RM Sotheby’s documentation, this unit has barely traveled 437 kilometers, which keeps it in practically new condition. Bugatti’s original warranty remains valid until 2026, which adds extra appeal for potential buyers.
A beauty on the outside, a beast on the inside. The Bugatti Centodieci is inspired by the iconic EB110 and combines nods to the brand’s classic elements, with current shapes and technology. Unit number six is painted in the elegant Quartz White and Carbon Gray tones, and features a Beluga Black leather interior with Rafale Gray accents.
Under the rear cover rests an 8-liter W16 engine that generates 1,600 HP of power and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.4 seconds. Such mechanics are capable of catapulting the Centodieci up to a maximum speed of 380 km/h.
If it were Ferrari it couldn’t be sold. It is not very common to find a car as exclusive as the Bugatti Centodieci at an auction just two years after its delivery. The main reason is because brands like Ferrari sell their cars under strict resale policies, which prohibit them from selling them without first offering them to the brand. That allows manufacturers to have greater control of the cars they have on the market and who drives them.
This is what has happened to the buyers of the Ferrari Purosangue who have already received their units, and are trying to do business with it, selling it for much more than what it cost them. Some of them have faced Ferrari in court and have not come out well.
