Pure Storage and Micron have expanded their collaboration with the aim of Deliver energy-efficient and scalable solutions to hyperscale data centers. They achieve this by using Micron’s G9 QLC NAND memories for future DirectFlash module products.
The collaboration between the two companies, which has been underway for more than a decade, now continues with an initiative to integrate Micron’s latest NAND technology with Pure Storage solutions, including Micron G8 QLC NAND technology. This is production qualified on Pure Storage’s 150TB DirectFlash module.
When combined with Pure Storage’s data storage platform, the solution delivers a high-capacity, high-performance, low-latency data storage platform. It also simplifies the architecture and offers improvements in energy efficiency.
With this collaboration, therefore, both companies collaborate to achieve a solution that provides advantages in terms of total cost of ownership when compared to conventional hard drive-based storage solutions for hyperscalers. By collaborating with PureStorage’s storage platform and Micron’s NAND technology, both companies can deliver an ultra-fast, low-latency and reliable solution for very large, data-intensive workloads.
Additionally, the solution significantly reduces energy consumption compared to traditional storage solutions, reducing operating costs and environmental footprint. On the other hand, by integrating Micron’s NAND technology, with a high area density, Pure Storage can offer highly scalable systems with a low total cost of acquisition and ownership.
Bill Cerreta, General Manager of Hyperscale at Pure Storagehas highlighted that «Pure Storage’s collaboration with Micron is another example of the great effort we are making to bring the benefits of all-flash technology to hyperscale environments. With Micron’s advanced NAND technology, Pure Storage can further optimize storage scalability, performance and power efficiency for an industry with unparalleled demands.«.
For its part, Jeremy Werner, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Micron’s Storage Business Unitemphasizes that «Micron’s advanced NAND technologies, combined with Pure’s innovative storage solutions, enable data center operators to meet the increasing performance, efficiency and scalability needs of today’s hyperscale data centers. Our partnership with Pure Storage, built on trust and fueled by innovation, consistently delivers cutting-edge storage solutions for enterprise and hyperscale environments.«.
