A REDDIT thread asked ex-employees of jobs to divulge secrets of their former workplaces.
The post, now archived, received over 250 replies from former retail workers, restaurant staff, and more, with tales from some of the most popular names in the US.
Originally posted to the r/AskReddit forum, which has now been archived, @LeftHandItches asked the group.
“What secret from your former job can you reveal now that you no longer work there?”
FAST FOOD FACT
The post quickly garnered attention, gaining 106 upvotes and several comments from people who formerly worked in a variety of industries.
Fans of Mexican chain Chipotle upvoted a reply that enables you to get your moneys worth with each order.
“I used to work at Chipotle.”
“When they give you a scoop of meat, you can technically ask them to measure it before they give it to you.”
The former restaurant worker then continued, “Trust me, it isn’t 4 oz like they say it is.”
This likely helped fans of the food chain, who have complained about constant price rises, with not enough filling to excuse increasing the prices.
WORKERS UNITE
It wasn’t just this relevation that was delighting Reddit users, as there were hundreds of replies.
From retail to finance and grocery stores, there were plenty of people quick to share stories and disgusting anecdotes.
One person wrote, “You can bring your own sweets and drinks to the cinema. Just don’t bring hot food or glass bottles.”
Another Reddit user shared, “Former frozen department manager from Kroger.
“There have been a few times our back freezer broke down and the food stood stagnant at 50° and became soft.
“It would have been tens of thousands of dollars worth of loss. They just let it re-freeze and sold it like nothing happened.”
Another shocking post said, “We had a “ghost kitchen” at Friday’s, consisting of sushi. It states on the menu everything is ‘fresh’.
“You’re literally paying like $10 for two tiny pieces of bagged, not even close to fresh, whatever type of raw ‘fish’ you’re ordering.
“Also, like most but not all chain restaurants, everything but the salads are frozen.”
This comes after wholesaler Costco came under fire in another Reddit thread.
Reddit members shared why they haven’t touched Costco samples in 20 years.
