Released in November 2023 in cinemas, The Boy and the Heron thus joined the list of films offered on Netflix all over the world. Everywhere ? In the strange corners of an old building located near his new home, he will undertake a journey to understand the world around him and unravel the mysteries of life. Largely dedicated to his family, The Boy and the Heron was a way for him to prepare those around him for his disappearance as much as to deliver the sum of all his cinema. Acclaimed by critics and the public, the film should mark the end of the career of the man who took his first steps in 1968 with Horus, the prince of the sun. Note that the film is one of the rare times where the filmmaker stepped in front of the microphone to lend his voice to a character.
