A few hours ago, we learned of the retirement of the iconic Ted Price, CEO and founder of the Insomniac Games studio. It is as part of this departure that Ryan Schneider, Chad Dezern and Jen Huang, the new leaders spoke with Variety. In addition to the fact that they made us understand that we would have to be very patient to discover Marvel’s Wolverine, the three men confirmed to us that they would be interested in adaptations of their games into series or films for the cinema.

Insomniac Games at the cinema, it would not be not a great first. In 2016, Ratchet & Clank had the right to its adaptation. Unfortunately, the latter received negative reviews and was a commercial failure. But that was before, and above all, before the creation of PlayStation Productions (in May 2019) which is a studio specializing in adaptations of games into films and series. It was even before being bought by Sony (also in 2019).
So, despite this failure, the studio is not afraid of the idea of starting the experiment again, once again with Ratchet & Clankas Ryan Scheinder confirms:
“I think back to the movie Ratchet & Clank from a few years ago. We started working on it very early. So, of course, we’re interested in that sort of thing. We particularly love Ratchet & Clank.”
Since 2019, Sony has favored adaptations of games into films or series, especially when new games are released. This was the case with the release of the film Uncharted (at the time of releaseUncharted The Legacy of Thieves Collection on PS5). Then, from the release of the series The Last Of Us on HBO, where season 01 arrived at the same time as The Last Of Us Part I on PC and season 02, scheduled for April, will be released at the launch of The Last Of Us Part II Remastered on PC.
So, after Marvel’s Wolverinethere is a very good chance that a new game Ratchet & Clank can see the light of day. The perfect time to release a film at the same time?
