A new generation of graphics cards is always a monumental event, and with lots of volatility in the silicon space, it’s an even bigger deal. Nvidia has been preparing the release of the 50 Series, which couple stellar visual performance with the power and flexibility needed to run modern AI applications, including chewing through huge sets of training data. For a rundown of exactly what you can expect from the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 cards, we’ve put together an explainer that digs deep into the details.
Our Take on the RTX 5090
We also got our hands on the RTX 5090 Founder’s Edition and gave it a full review. Compared with the previous market leader, the RTX 4090, it outperformed every single synthetic test, dominated games, and showed increased efficiency in content creation programs and AI operations. The card easily earned an Editors’ Choice award and we can’t wait to see how it matures. It’s absolutely a worthwhile upgrade if you need to be on the cutting edge of performance.
The cards go on sale at 9 a.m. ET on January 30th, but we’ve already checked out all the top retailers to find prices and availability. Make sure to comeback for updates and pricing deals!
Where To Get the RTX 5090

Newegg, as expected, has a robust landing page with many different 50 series GPUs on it, but no prices listed. Here are some of the options.
Best Buy already has product pages with prices for the base RTX 5090 model, as well as prebuilt gaming desktops featuring the GPU. These will only be available online, so don’t go to a store location looking for them.
B&H Photo has product pages for multiple 5090 models, but no prices.
Amazon has not launched product pages for the RTX 5090 or any prebuilts featuring it yet.
