Once again, The Last of Us promises to be one of the biggest television events of the year. After a first successful season broadcast in 2023, The next salvo of adaptation episodes will be invited to our screens next April. HBO and the Max platform have not yet given more details concerning the exact release date. The creator of the game, Neil Druckmann, therefore takes advantage of the last weeks of waiting to reveal some crisp details about the second season. In an interview entrusted to Entertainment WeeklyDruckmann and the co-director of the Craig Mazin series addressed many recurring questions, ranging from the structure of the scenario to the physics of actors and actresses.
For fans who are worried about discovering a (almost) compliant copy of the original game – as has been the case with season 1 – the duo of creatives makes some reassuring promises. The first part released two years ago had already taken some liberties by proposing to discover unpublished narrative segments, such as the romance between Frank and Bill or the birth of Ellie (whose mother was embodied by Ashley Johnson, the Actress of the teenager in games). Since these passages were particularly well received by the spectators, whether fans of the first hour or not, Season 2 will expand the universe of The Last of Us A little more.

A different order and scenes cut to the program
On PlayStation, the story of The Last of Us Part II is told in a non -linear way, with passages alternating between the point of view of Ellie and Abby. No changes to be expected in this approach with the series, if this is not the exact placement of the scenes and their temporality. “” “The perspective is one of the main themes of the second game, we discover how the hero of someone can be the villain of someone else and vice versa. It is strange to speak of a scenario whose structure could be a spoiler“Explains Neil Druckmann who adds that for the series“We have thought about it a lot and tried different things. There are some differences in the way we place things.”
We already know That a new character will be interpreted by actress Catherine O’Hara, while another figure only mentioned in the game will appear this time in flesh. But spectators will also be able to expect a few shocking moments. Indeed, Druckmann confirms the inclusion of deleted passages from the original game (some of which were presented in the remastered version of The Last of Us Part II). The creator of the game does not mince words and declares that certain scenes cut now reintroduced are “really brutal, but I can’t wait for spectators to discover them“. Season 2 of The Last of Us does not yet have a precise broadcast date next April, but PC players can already count on the release of the portage of The Last of Us Part II Remastered April 3.
