Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal renamed his popular food delivery platform as ‘Eternal’. Yes, you heard it right! The food delivery platform has now been renamed as the ‘Eternal’ and the internet has reacted in extreme disappointment. After the rebranding, X (formerly Twitter) is flooded with memes and funny GIFs. The announcement has sparked the frenzy and confusion among users and buyers.
Goyal issued communicated the rebranded information via official letter to his shareholders. The letter reads, “Our corporate website will transition from zomato.com to eternal.com. We will also change our stock ticker from ZOMATO to ETERNAL. Eternal will comprise four major businesses (as of now) – Zomato, Blinkit, District, and Hyperpure.”
The company has also released the logo of Eternal Limited, which is seen in a combination of black-white color. Till now the company’s logo was in red and white. Zomato started using the name Eternal internally after the acquisition of Blinkit. The company believes that it now has many big growth drivers other than Zomato, such as Blinkit, Hyperpure and Zomato District. In view of the excellent performance of Blinkit and the growing business of the company, it has now been decided to officially change the name.

Goyal also wrote a note which says, “Eternal is a powerful name, frankly it scares me to my core. Living up to it is a difficult task. Because ‘Eternal’ is not only a promise but also a paradox. True permanence does not come from big claims, nor from bragging about our achievements, but from accepting that immortality arises from our mortality. Because, the day we think that we will live forever, that very day is the beginning of our end.”
Deepinder Goyal said that working on Eternal will be a wake-up call to the fact that immortality is earned through little moments of self-doubt, understanding your limitations, and the hunger to make yourself better every day.
