The PM01 is distinguished by a design inspired by humans, an interactive screen as a “face” and advanced joints which offer it a wide variety of movements. Engineai already announces its availability for sale until March 31, 2025, with a launch rate set at 88,000 yuan (around $ 12,000). It is 3,000 dollars cheaper than the G1 of Unitree, one of its main rivals.
Newcomer to humanoid robotics
The PM01 focuses on performance and its compact appearance. 1.38 meters high for 40 kg, it is smaller and lighter than the flagship model of the brand, the SE01. Its aluminum alloy exoskeleton gives it a certain robustness and great agility, while its electronic architecture is based on a combination of Intel N97 processors and Nvidia Jetson Orin. This computing power allows it to analyze its environment in real time thanks to an intel realsense depth camera and three stereoscopic sensors.

His 24 degrees of freedom in the joints offer him an impressive mobility, surpassing the flexibility of the Booster T1 and doing as well as the G1 of Suniter in its basic configurations. It moves at a maximum speed of 2 m/s, a performance similar to that of the G1 and much higher than the 1.2 m/s of the Booster T1. On the other hand, it remains behind models such as the ERA Star1 robot, which pushes the limits with a point at 3.3 m/s.
Another strong point of the PM01 is its autonomy: approximately two hours of operation per load thanks to a high removable capacity battery. An asset for laboratories and companies who want to test all kinds of uses without having to stop too frequently.
The PM01 inherits the advances of the SE01, in particular with regard to its neural piloting system. Engineai has developed an original articulation module, as well as an imitation learning approach, which allows the robot to reproduce a approach as fluid and natural as possible. This technology, which improves both stability and energy efficiency, makes the PM01 an interesting candidate for future developments in humanoid robotics.
The boss of Engineai, Zhao Tongyang, says he wants ” Integrate smart robots into all aspects of daily life ». With such ambitions, the company plans to produce more than 1,000 units by 2025, and to develop domestic and industrial versions of its robots.
