Some rarer releases could fetch a lot more than you originally paid.

It’s well worth checking if you have one of the titles listed below gathering dust.

Remember, most attract the biggest fee if they still have their original box.

And you can get even more if they’re unopened too.

The NES console had two types of screws in the game cartridges, a three screw and a five screw.

Nintendo started with a five screw variant before moving onto three.

If you happen to have a complete in-box 5 screw version of the Super Mario Bros, you could get up to £250 for it.

Super Mario RPG

Super Mario RPG was released in 1996 for the SNES.

But it was released only a few months before the N64 which stole its thunder.

And it’s not available on Switch Online either.

Therefore, if you have a good condition boxed version of Super Mario RPG you could get about £287.

Mario’s Tennis was released in 1995 for the Virtual Boy, Nintendo’s ill-fated tabletop portable console.

Given the system’s poor performance, some games released for it have become quite rare, including Mario’s Tennis.

Boxed versions of Mario’s Tennis could get up £350.

Get up to £400

Mario’s Time Machine was one of Nintendo’s educational game titles.

And it’s the last to be released for NES, meaning there are very fewer copies around and highly desired by collectors.

For that reason, you can get almost £400 for it.

Super Mario World

The hugely popular Super Mario World came out in 1990 for SNES.

However, it was largely sold as a bundle with the console, meaning individually boxed copies are now quite rare.

If you happen to have one, you could get up to £587.

One of the highest value Mario games isn’t from the early Nintendo Consoles.

No, Mario Kart 8 Limited Edition’s Wii U game can get a whooping £870 according to The Gamer.

But you’ll need the red boxed version to net that amount.

And only 350 copies were sold at a speciality store in New York City, according to The Gamer.

So the only way you are likely to be sat on this one is if you were on holiday in the States at the time.
