A WALMART shopper has urged the retailer to roll out a Donald Trump style executive order when it comes to its payment policy.

The furious customer demanded execs to switch its payment method policy, calling on bosses to finally embrace Apple Pay.

Scores of shoppers have called for the contactless payment policy to be rolled out across Walmart’s entire network of stores.

But, execs have resisted the calls for change.

Chiefs want customers to use the in-house Walmart Pay app – which is a form of contactless payment.

Not all shoppers have welcomed the company’s policy

“Scanning QR codes or using an app during checkout will never be more convenient than using tap to pay and Apple Pay at point of sale,” one posted on X.

“We need a Donald Trump executive order.”

Trump has issued a flurry of executive orders since he returned to the White House on January 20.

His orders range from tariffs on China to declaring an emergency at the southern border.

Despite the shopper’s pleas, Walmart has not taken immediate action.

And the grocery chain has come under a barrage of criticism for its failure to embrace Apple Pay.

Retailers Under Fire: The Apple Pay Dilemma

“Crazy how it’s 2025 and Walmart still doesn’t have Apple Pay,” another shopper posted on X.

A fan of Walmart demanded answers from the retailer.

“Why are you sooo behind the times?? Please, please utilize tap to pay,” they said.

Some shoppers said they were “aggravated” by Walmart’s decision not to roll out Apple Pay.

Why doesn’t Walmart offer Apple Pay?

CEO of Walmart Doug McMillon has revealed why stores don’t offer Apple Pay on Stratechery with Ben Thompson.

Though using Apple Pay at the retailer has been an ongoing conversation, McMillon emphasized that “We would like to have the customers open our app in the store all the time.”

The app can be used to help find items in the store, but it can also be used to pay for your purchases.

“That’s one of the things that we would like people to use our app for,” he said.

“Till this day, I don’t understand why Walmart doesn’t have Apple Pay,” a customer said.

Customers have complained about having to return home once realizing Apple Pay is off limits.

Walmart execs have explained why Apple Pay isn’t a feature in supermarkets.

Doug McMillon said he prefers shoppers using Walmart Pay, as per an interview with Stratechery.

But, he didn’t rule out the possibility of Apple Pay being integrated.

“Yeah, maybe we will at some point,” he said.

“Those conversations are ongoing. I think in our case, we would like to have the customers open our app in the store all the time.”

Walmart is one of the few retailers that doesn’t allow its customers to use Apple Pay.

Hobby Lobby is another, but The Home Depot has recently rolled out the payment method option.
