Zscaler launches Asset Exposure Management for enhanced cyber asset tracking – News

Cloud security company Zscaler Inc. today announced the introduction of Zscaler Asset Exposure Management, a new service designed to advance how organizations manage their cyber asset attack surfaces.

The new service consolidates and correlates data from various sources to deliver organizations a precise inventory of assets and visibility into their security gaps, thereby mitigating cyber risk.

Zscaler Asset Exposure Management seeks to address the issue wherein organizations often struggle to maintain an accurate inventory of their assets. The company argues that information technology and security teams resort to spending hours using spreadsheets to track assets, in the process making it difficult to assess the risks these assets pose and prioritize remediation efforts. Being able to track assets is a particular issue in regulated industries, such as healthcare and financial services, where noncompliance can result in significant fines.

Built on Zscaler’s Data Fabric for Security, Asset Exposure Management integrates and correlates data from hundreds of sources, including its cloud security platform and Zero Trust Exchange platform, to provide organizations with a comprehensive and accurate inventory of their assets and their risk.

The Zero Trust Exchange platform processes more than 500 billion security transactions daily, offering a comprehensive view of customer assets and associated risks. The platform provides in-depth visibility into assets operating in branches and factories through the Zero Trust Branch solution.

Zscaler Asset Exposure Management offers comprehensive asset risk management by providing organizations with a complete and accurate inventory of their assets. It aggregates and deduplicates data from multiple sources, ensuring visibility into software stacks and configurations across the enterprise.

The solution helps identify coverage gaps by detecting assets that lack essential security measures, such as missing endpoint detection and response solutions or outdated software. It also enhances data accuracy by automatically updating configuration management databases and resolving inconsistencies across systems.

To mitigate risks, Zscaler automates remediation workflows and policy adjustments to restrict access for users associated with vulnerable assets. Through its integration with Zscaler Risk360 and Unified Vulnerability Management, Asset Exposure Management strengthens overall security posture and reduces enterprise cyber risk.
