Application security firm F5 Inc. today announced several new solutions at its annual AppWorld 2025 confernce, including the F5 Application Delivery and Security Platform and new artificial intelligence-powered solutions.

The new Application Delivery and Security Platform is the industry’s first converged application delivery and security platform for hybrid and multicloud infrastructures, F5 claims. It brings together high-performance load balancing and traffic management with advanced app and application programming interface security capabilities to reduce complexity, simplify operations and strengthen security for every app, according to the company.

The solution seeks to address the issue of many enterprises being ill-equipped to handle the massive amounts of data, complex traffic patterns and new attack vectors that are inherent in AI applications. The F5 Application Delivery and Security Platform has been built to address these challenges by offering complete delivery and security for every app in a single platform that simplifies management for information technology and security teams.

Features include the ability to deploy anywhere in any form factor to run seamlessly across today’s diverse IT environments. The solution includes single-policy, unified management across all locations. The goal is to reduce complexity, improve efficiency and offer rich analytics and insights that are relevant and actionable to improve performance and strengthen the security of today’s complex applications.

The F5 Application Delivery and Security Platform also offers fully programmable data planes that allow for automated deployment and custom functionality so that organizations can effectively adapt to changing needs. Additionally, the solution offers full lifecycle automation that allows teams to focus on delivering innovation and stop drowning in maintenance tasks.

On the AI side, F5 announced several solutions and capabilities designed to help customers leverage the power of AI to reduce complexity, simplify operations and strengthen security postures for their business apps.

F5 AI Gateway, a service that helps organizations streamline applications, APIs and large language models and drive wider enterprise AI adoption, is now generally available. The containerized solution optimizes performance, observability and protection capabilities, with the results leading to reduced costs. AI Gateway also gives security and operations teams a path to adopting AI services through significantly improved data output quality and a superior user experience.

The next release, AI Assistant for NGINX One, is powered by the F5 AI Data Fabric and serves as an intelligent partner to stretched NetOps, SecOps, DevOps and platform ops teams. The AI assistant uses a natural language interface to streamline operations and improve return on investment. It helps teams configure and optimize application delivery, preemptively address threats and identify anomalies before they affect production.

Coming later this year, F5 also announced an AI assistant for BIG-IP and iRule code generation and explanation. With the service, customers will be able to automate the creation, maintenance and optimization of iRules while reducing the time and resources required to manage traffic effectively and securely deliver apps. The system generates optimized, validated iRules using AI that adhere to best practices and improve accuracy while reducing errors.
