WhatsApp is always experimenting with new features to make the user experience super smooth. And now, the Meta-owned platform is gearing up to bring a couple of features for the video calling service on the platform. According to an exclusive report by Android Authority, WhatsApp is soon going to add the react feature to video calls as it is due for a long time. This will put WhatsApp in direct competition with apps like Zoom and Google Meet that already offer the same functionality for a long time now.
WhatsApp video call new features
In the investigation of the latest WhatsApp beta version 2.25.5.21, our folks at Android Authority found out that the Meta-owned platform is working on two new features. The first one is going to be the raise hand feature which is going to be pretty beneficial for the video calls that happen with multiple people.
Apart from that, the second feature is going to be the inclusion of emoji reactions to WhatsApp video calls. These features can be accessed on the application by tapping on the three-dot menu available at the bottom bar in a video call.
As for the working, the emoji reactions through which the users will be able to express their feelings on a video call based on the events that are taking place. The emojis that were visible in the report by Android Authority were a crying face, folded hands, a laughing face, a shocked face, and a heart.
And the raise hand feature will help the users in letting people know that there is a query without interrupting the conversation. Until now, it has not been confirmed if and when the feature will be launched for the stable version of the application. Speculations are that we will get to see the standard WhatsApp app this year itself if things work out in the beta version.
