Rustup 1.28 Adds New Windows AArch64 & LoongArch Platform Support

Rustup 1.28 is out today as the newest version of this official tool that is the Rust project’s recommended means of installing the Rust programming language support.

With it being one year since the prior release, Rustup 1.28 is made up of a lot of improvements and other changes over this time. Of note is Rustup 1.28 adding new host platform support. The first new platform support is aarch64-pc-windows-msvc for Windows AArch64 (ARM64) using the MSVC toolchain. The other new platform support is loongarch64-unknown-linux-musl for the Chinese LoongArch64 processors on Linux with the musl C library.

Rustup 1.28 also brings various command improvements, changes to the default download backend, and other improvements.
