European cloud suppliers ARUBA, IONOS AND DYNAMO They have announced the Development of a new open API standard for cloud infrastructure management. This is the European Sovereign Cloud API (Dry)which have presented within the framework of the Dynamo Cloud Business Forum, held in Milan. This API already has its first version available to all European Cloud suppliers, with free access and without operational costs.
The objective of this collaboration is to improve the interoperability of data between cloud services, allowing users to deploy and execute workloads and applications without problems in the cloud environment they prefer. In addition, it guarantees fluid access to the different platforms, with a high level of security, control and sovereignty of data, in line with European standards.
Aruba and Ionos will be the first cloud service providers to offer the new dry API to its customers. Dynamo, meanwhile, will implement dry -based connectors to automate the provisioning process of compatible suppliers that join the network. The dry standard will be open and inclusive, with the objective of adopting the largest possible European cloud suppliers, and will guarantee uniform access for those who decide to integrate it.
Dry will be one of the outstanding points in the implementation of the Eurostack initiative, which aims to create an open, interoperable and sovereign digital infrastructure for Europe. That is, a complete digital ecosystem created and supplied in Europe, backed by the technical capacities of the Dry API and the Dynamo platform. It is an initiative considered fundamental for European digital sovereignty, data privacy, regulatory compliance, innovation and security. At this time, in addition, thanks to the support of a network of expanding collaborators, the initiative, which will allow the development of an own cloud ecosystem for European, encourages open participation.
This API offers a standardized interface, which allows the platforms of the participating organizations to operate based on a common specification of central API. Initially deployed in the infrastructure layer as a service, this common base allows organizations to develop tools and automation with consistent standards, with more interoperability and a coherent approach throughout the European cloud ecosystem.
Its implementation is designed to be simple, as well as to compare cloud suppliers and perform simpler tests. Multicloud interoperability will also improve, since the standards you use are agreed. It also avoids the dependence of a single supplier, and facilitates the agility of training, as well as its adoption and integration.
The EU Cloud operators who want to contribute will be able to do so based on their technology and experience, creating a network that in principle will include those who are based in Italy, Germany and Spain. Subsequently, the entire territory of the EU and the European economic space can be expanded.
The collaboration between the cloud market actors will create a common set of public subroutines, methods and requests that users can implement to interact with a unique API, open and versioned source, instead of having to navigate the unique applications of each supplier.
To guarantee the integrity of the dry API, a rigorous certification process will be launched, which will verify that the new open API complies with transparent industrial regulations, best practices and security protocols. The certification process will cover several key aspects, such as effective legal immunity against interference from third countries or executive decrees, independence of software supply chains outside the European legal sphere and adherence commitment to the API specification standards.
When completing this certification process, it will be guaranteed that the dry API is impartial, safe, efficient and reliable for the use that has been provided. Common certification norms, on the other hand, will be in line with the European rules to preserve the core of European sovereignty. As next advance, lAt initiative it will open a call for comments to reflect the opinions of the usersand the First launch to the IAAS marketfollowed by Paas.
