Indian telecom giant Airtel has come up with an agreement with Elon Musk’s SpaceX to deliver Starlink’s high-speed internet services in the Indian market. This is being hailed as the first agreement between Starlink and any Indian firm and it is subject to SpaceX receiving its authorization to sell the services in the country.
Airtel and SpaceX collaboration
Airtel and SpaceX will try to offer Starlink equipment in the retail stores of the Indian telecom brand. The service of the collaboration will be available for customers from different disciplines like schools, communities, health centers, and a lot more than that. Furthermore, the brands will also focus on reaching the rural parts of India and provide seamless connectivity all over the country.
Airtel and SpaceX will also work on the expansion and enhancement of the Starlink network in India. Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Bharti Airtel, Gopal Vittal, suggested that working with SpaceX to offer Starlink to Airtel customers in India could be seen as a significant milestone and it shows the commitment of the telecom giant towards catering to the next-generation of Indian consumers.
He further said that the collab will amplify the ability of Airtel to offer world-class high-speed broadband to the most remote parts of the country. With this, the company will make sure that all segments of people like businesses, communities, and individuals are able to take advantage of the collaboration. Both companies will focus on bringing affordable solutions in the Indian market that are reliable as well.
As for Starlink, it offers high-speed low-latency internet to users all over the globe. And it is boasted as the world’s first and largest satellite constellation using a low Earth orbit. The internet provided by the same can be used for purposes like video calls, streaming, gaming, and a lot more to mention here.
