Channel executives have canned a number of programmes across multiple genres.

In terms of drama, S.W.A.T. was the first to be cancelled by the higher-ups.

The Shemar Moore-led drama was initially set to end after six seasons in 2023.

However, the show was later given a lifeline and revived by bosses for one more season.

This was following an outcry from fans; however, the show will now finish for good after the eighth season.

After the news was announced, the showrunner of the drama spoke out as he admitted his devastation.

Andrew Dettmann explained: “It’s heartbreaking news, primarily because it’s been such an immense pleasure working with this cast and crew to put out a show that we’ve always been proud of.”

Two popular spin-offs in the FBI franchise have unfortunately suffered the same fate.

FBI: Most Wanted was the very first secondary show to be commissioned for the popular franchise.

It follows the efforts of the FBI’s Fugitive Task Force in New York as they try to track down the worst criminals.

The characters were first introduced on-screen via a backdoor pilot that was filmed during the very first season of the original show.

Bosses have decided to end the show after six seasons on CBS, starring huge names such as Dylan McDermott,

At the same time, it was announced that FBI: International will also end after four seasons.

Jesse Lee Soffer and Luke Kleintank led the cast of the second spin-off, which focused on FBI special agents who investigate crime and terrorism abroad.
