Instagram is working on multiple features to make the user experience better. Now, there are reports that the Meta-owned platform is working on a feature that will let the users fast-forward Reel videos at double speed. And yes, some of the old features from the application are going to bid adieu. According to Instagram Head, Adam Mosseri, the Content Note feature will be removed from the platform.
Instagram new changes on the way
A report published by 9to5Mac cited that Instagram is rolling out a new feature with which people will be able to fast-forward long Reel videos. The users can watch a Reel at 2X speed by pressing or holding on any of the screen sides. It will work as a boon for people who wish to watch long reels in a short time. The feature is being slowly rolled out for both iOS and Android devices. However, if you are unable to see it on your phone, then you just need to wait as the roll-out is in process.
Apart from that, Instagram is also gearing up to launch a new mobile video editing app named Edits that will let the creators shoot and edit short videos for the reels directly from their smartphones. It was previously going to make a debut in March but it has been delayed.
Coming to the discontinued one, the Content Note features will no longer be seen on the app. The main reason behind that is the adoption rate was super slow. With the feature, the users were able to share their thoughts on Instagram posts and Reels. However, Mosseri has suggested that the platform will keep working and introducing new features for the convenience of the users.
