MILLIONS of telly fans can unlock dozens of extra movies for free in April.

It’s part of a massive upgrade to a popular TV service – and won’t cost you a penny extra.

Pluto TV is getting a big update in April as part of a special event.

The app is ad-supported, which means that you don’t pay anything to watch. The only catch is that you’ll sit through some ads.

And it’s a popular app that you can get on millions of TV models, Amazon Fire Stick and Roku plug-in devices, as well as your phone.

Importantly, Pluto TV has revealed that it’s adding dozens of new movies in April.

The company says that it’s part of a broadcasting event to mark the fact that we’re now halfway to Halloween.

And that means the app is being loaded up with loads of spooky content.

“Boo! Starting April 1st, Pluto TV will be celebrating the halfway mark to Halloween with APRIL GHOULS,” Pluto explained.

“With a scary good offering of supernatural, and thrills and chills themed programming stunts and horror film-filled marathons across a number of channels.”

That includes 27 movies that don’t cost anything to watch.

And there are several horror-themed channels available for free in April too.

On top of that, Pluto TV says it will be hosting at least three “programming stunts” in April.

They include:

  • April 11 – Pluto TV Horror: Franchise Friday the 13th (airing 8 films)
  • April 23 – Pluto TV Spotlight: Monsters of Literature stunting

Of course Pluto TV isn’t just a horror movie app.

The service has an enormous catalogue of no-cost content that you can view.

It serves up more than 250 live TV channels, as well as “thousands of on-demand movies and TV shows”.

SWAP YOUR STREAMS TO SAVE!

Here’s some bill-slashing advice from The Sun’s tech editor Sean Keach…

If you’re like me, you’ll be paying out more than you’d like on subscriptions each month.

It’s easy to lose track of where all the money goes, and the fear of missing out makes it hard to bin Netflix.

But if you’re paying for several streaming services, you’re making a big mistake.

Instead, try something called stream swapping.

Cancel all of your TV subscriptions except for Netflix, then burn through all of the telly you want to watch on the app.

Then cancel that and sign up for another service, like Disney+.

Watch all of the good stuff there and then move on, perhaps to Amazon Video.

Do this with three or four apps and then cycle back to Netflix at the start.

This way, you get to watch all of the top content on each app but you’re not paying for them all at the same time.

And you might even get to take advantage of some attractive sign-up offers too.

It could save you hundreds each year if you stick to it.

The app says it delivers live TV including local and national news, sports, shows and movies, as well as a mix of Netflix-style on-demand content.
