TREY LANCE has signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers.
The quarter-back was a free agent after leaving the Dallas Cowboys at the end of the season.

Lance spent two years in Texas but played just four games, having failed to feature in his first season with the Cowboys in 2023.
He has made just 12 NFL appearances in his career but the Chargers have handed him a deal worth $6.2million, according to ESPN.
Lance is expected to provide back up to starting quarter-back Justin Herbert.
He will rival Taylor Heinicke for the No2 spot, who played four matches last season.
It is a lifeline for Lance, who had been linked with a move to Canadian Football League’s Saskatchewan Roughriders given his lack of NFL offers.
Lance was once touted as a hot prospect and was a first-round pick for the San Francisco 49ers in the 2021 NFL Draft.
He was handed a four-year contract worth $34million but he failed to impress in his eight games for the franchise.
The 24-year-old spent the majority of his rookie season on the bench but was the 49ers’ starting quarterback for the 2022 campaign.
However, he suffered a season-ending ankle injury in that season and saw Brock Purdy secure the starting role.
Lance only appeared in eight games over two years with San Francisco.
During that span, Lance posted 797 passing yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions, along with 235 rushing yards and one rush touchdown.
Before the 2023 season, the 49ers traded Lance to the Cowboys and didn’t appear in one game during that campaign.
In 2024, he was a third-string quarterback.
Lance didn’t get much of an opportunity before the regular-season finale game.
He replaced Cooper Rush versus the Washington Commanders and completed 20 of 34 passes for 244 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.
