Despite plenty of talk about tech getting more expensive, the latest MacBook Air seems to be bucking this trend.

If you were to head to the Apple Store then the MacBook Air M4 would set you back £999, but if you sidestep it and opt for Amazon instead, then you’ll only have to part with £919.97 for the privilege of owning this outstanding laptop.

MacBook Airs have long been a great option for students everywhere for their portability, but now that they have the M4 chip in tow, the range has reached a level of processing power that puts it in a whole new league.
For instance, on top of standard document and spreadsheet work, the MacBook Air M4 can absolutely be used for a spot of video editing, and even some gaming after the day is done. Typically you would have had to go for the MacBook Pro to enjoy these benefits, but no more.
This makes the MacBook Air M4 even better for students or professionals who have a side hustle as a content creator or streamer, offering up more bang for your buck. Of course, one of the best aspects of Apple switching over to its own-brand silicon is power efficiency.
Apple claims that you can get up to 18-hours of battery life from a single charge on this MacBook Air, and based on our testing from previous MacBooks, it isn’t too hard to imagine this feat being achieved.
That means you’ll have plenty of juice in the tank to get you through a working day, and you won’t have to panic if you start working from a cafe that doesn’t have an available power outlet.
As a final point, if you have an iPhone then you can use Apple’s mirroring software to interact with your phone all from your MacBook desktop, which is great if you want to respond to a quick message without needing to pull out your phone.
There’s no telling how long this deal will be available for, but I don’t imagine a price cut of this magnitude sticking around for an extended period of time.
