The beaten Super Bowl 59 finalists currently have the 31st pick in the upcoming draft.
But an insider reckons the Chiefs could make a trade with the Vikings to land the 24th overall pick later this month.
Mike Band said: “The Chiefs trade up to No. 24 to secure their long-term answer at left tackle, leapfrogging Houston, a team that could also target offensive line help at No. 25.
“The last time the Chiefs came off a Lombardi Trophy-free season, GM Brett Veach and head coach Andy Reid made a similar move up the board to secure a need and draft cornerback Trent McDuffie.”
Should Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid sanction a trade with the Vikings, Band believes the former will use the 24th pick to land offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr.
Banks Jr was one of the standout players in the 2024 College Football season.
The Texas Longhorns star’s displays saw him scoop both the Outland Trophy and the Lombardi Award.
Unsurprisingly, Banks Jr, 21, declared for the NFL Draft in January.
And he bid a fond farewell to Longhorns fans in a heartfelt Instagram post.

He wrote: “I am eternally grateful for the impact The University of Texas and Longhorn Nation have had on my life.
“From the moment I stepped on the Forty Acres, I knew I was part of something special.
“The support, passion, and pride of this community have shaped me both as an athlete and as a person.
“And [I] will carry these memories with me forever.”
The 2025 NFL Draft takes place from April 24 to April 26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
And the eyes of NFL fans around the world will be firmly on Lambeau Field to see where some of the hottest American football prospects end up.
