Riding on Ne Zha 2’s box office boom, Enlight Media announces plan for AAA games · TechNode

Last Friday, Beijing Enlight Media, the studio behind the hit Chinese movie Ne Zha, announced the establishment of a gaming division focused on developing AAA titles. The company has been advancing its gaming development efforts for several months, with its first AAA project expected to launch in around three years, according to Chinese media outlet Securities Daily. The company posted revenue of RMB 2.975 billion ($410 million) in the first quarter of 2025, marking a 177.87% year-on-year increase. Net profit attributable to shareholders reached RMB 2.016 billion ($278 million), up 374.79% compared to the same period last year. As of today, Ne Zha 2, which was released in China on January 29, has achieved a cumulative box office total of RMB 15.302 billion ($2.11 billion). [Securities Daily, in Chinese]
