Google has updated the smart TV and games console interface for its YouTube app with some fantastic new features for music lovers.
As with many YouTube users, I love to let the algorithm take me on a tour of my favourite artists, showing me covers, live performances, rare versions and so forth.

And the new update to YouTube on large screens is absolutely perfect for that. The company has added new shelves for “Listen Again” and “Live performances, remixes, and covers.”
If you want to pick up where you left off, there’s also a “Continue your search” shelf to get you back into that specific rabbit hole.
Google describes the update as follows:
The “Continue your search” shelf shows you your top three searches, allowing you to jump back in right where you left off.
The “Listen again” shelf is a dedicated music shelf that shows you the top songs you’ve previously searched for and listened to.
The “Live performances, remixes, and covers” shelf shows you other versions of your favourite songs, beyond the official versions.YouTube
That’s going to be amazing for my Friday night listening sessions, accompanied by the occasional libation.
Google is also adding a Podcasts tab, a Shorts row, a shelf for your Primetime Channels, and videos from your top channels.
