First week of May … or, at least, first weekend of May and first Saturday in May. You know what that means: with us, the restrictions of today do not circulate sabbatino. Because in addition to a few days of rest, the weekend is also synonymous with restrictions.
If you still do not know what we are talking about, it is because you are not aware of the project designed by the Ministry of Environment of the CDMX (Sedema) with which you try to breathe the air quality we breathe. As? The fact that? Let’s explain it.
SEDEMA IS OBJECTIVE Improve air quality We breathe. And that has an easy solution, as long as we talk about leaving the car at home. At least, that is what those who have designed this measure think. If we leave the car at home, we will all breathe better … at least where it applies.
Because, indeed, today does not circulate does not apply throughout Mexico, it is launched in the 16 mayorships in Mexico City and in the following conurbed municipalities of the State of Mexico:

What cars and plaques affect the Sabatino today
Once we know this, what are the restrictions that we have to take into account? Obviously, on Saturdays we cannot circulate … at least a few. Because the restrictions do not apply for everyone or the same logic as the rest of the week.
As you can see above, in the day to day it is the hologram of the car that marks who and when they can circulate. But on Saturdays they have their own dynamics, with some cars that rotate and others that can never move.
Actually, with current restrictions you can give the following cases:
- Cars that can circulate every Saturday
- Cars that have to rest every Saturday
- Cars that rest on a Saturday yes and another
Restrictions, yes, do not apply all day. They are active between 05:00 and 10:00 p.m.. That is, at night we can move freely and without taking into account any type of restriction.
So how should we read the Sabatino today? Simply those who are affected by him will have to stay at home if they don’t want to be fined. Therefore, you have to be very clear if you have or not to rest.
To begin with, cars with hologram 2 rest every Saturday, there is not one that can move. On the contrary, those of Hologram 0 and 00 can circulate whenever they want because cars are considered less pollutants.
It is those of Hologogram 1 that have to be more attentive because in this case it is broken. This week, as we are facing the first Saturday of May, they are the cars with hologram 1 and plate number finished in an odd figure that must stay at home.
Next week will be the other way around but this Saturday, May 3, 2025who cannot leave are those of Hologram 2 and those of Hologram 1 and plate finished in odd number. Next week the hologram 1 and plaque finished in torque will be rest.
Despite this, there are some exceptions that must be taken into account because those cars can move with total freedom:
- Those that work for electricity, natural gas or are hybrid
- Those who have disabled plate
- All those dedicated to urban transport services (includes funerals)
- Those who offer school or passenger transport
- Those destined for public safety and/or civil protection
In case of breaching these restrictions, the fine will be 20 to 30 times the unit of measurement and update (ONE), which is equivalent to 1,924.40 pesos and even 2,886.60 pesos.
