He Council of Ministers held yesterday approved various actions in cybersecurity and cyber -defenseto which a Investment of 1,157 million of euros. These measures will complement those already included in the National Cybersecurity Plan of March 2022, with the aim of adapting it to the new trends in its field.
The proceedings agreed, in addition, are also within the framework of the Industrial and Technological Plan for Security and Defense, presented at the end of April by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez. These are actions that will improve cybersecurity and cyber -defense capabilities of broad spectrum, from prevention of detection and protection to response and recovery.
One of them is the impulse of the 5G Safety Operations Center (SOC 5G), which is responsible for monitoring, control and supervision of regulations and regulations for 5g cybersecurity. This center also provides support for cybersecurity equipment for operators, manufacturers, corporate users and administrations.
In addition, the cyber basil of the transverse services of the digital administration will be reinforced, as well as the platforms for the automated realization of audits on the internet -exposed services of the public administrations. The objective of this measure is to improve the resistance of the systems of all public administrations to attacks.
On the other hand, advanced techniques of AI will be integrated into the systems for the detection of cyberators, in addition to improving the coordination of the response of the cybersecurity operations centers, both public and private, and the system of generation of early alerts in cyber -defense and cybersecurity will be enhanced. Collaborations with universities will also be promoted to expand cybersecurity research.
In the design and development of the measures that will be carried out, several ministerial departments are involved. This leads to 22% of the total budget being executed by the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Function, including the Secretariat of State of Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure, the State Agency of Digital Administration (AEAD), Red. The majority of the budget will be executed by the Ministry of Defense, through the National Intelligence Center-National Cryptological Center (CNI-CCN), the Information and Communications Systems and Technology Center (CESIC) and the Joint Command of Cyberspace (MCCE). The Ministry of Interior will carry out actions for the value of 16.34% of the budget, while the Department of National Security (DSN), which depends on the Ministry of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Cortes, will execute the remaining 1.2%.
