There are plenty of options vying to be the best outdoor speaker, but if you’re looking for one that’s sustainable and long-lasting, you’ll want to give this effort from Poco Audio a look.

Poco Audio’s Pine Beat is, in their words, a “high-performance portable speaker and power bank with easily swappable batteries”. Judging by the images, you can extract the battery from the top of the speaker and place another one in yourself for the sum of £25.

A Bluetooth speaker that aims to last

The battery can last up to 30 hours, and the speaker itself is serviceable, with the potential of upgrading the Bluetooth chipset down the line. But that’s not the only part of the Pine Beat that’s forward thinking.

The speaker and its accessories are produced from sustainable materials such as traceable ocean waste plastic, recycled aluminium and silicon, as well as natural rubber and organic cotton; meaning this speaker won’t be adding to trash landfills where devices go to rest.

Other notable aspects include its water and dust-proof IP67-rating, fast-charging support, 40W of power to output sound, and versatility via its accessories that allow you to adapt the speaker to how you want to use it such as the Mag Base where you can use the stick the speaker “anywhere”.

The cord accessory which is a carabiner that you can securely use to hang it to a tent or your rucksack; and the peg spike, which you can attach to the bottom and allows you to stick it into the ground, which is useful if you’re ever at the beach and want to give the speaker a secure footing in your garden.

Pre-orders start now

The Poco Audio Pine Beat is available on the Poco Audio website, with pre-orders starting now and the speaker expected to go on sale June 2025. It’s priced at £170 with extra batteries costing £25 and the accessories also priced at £25.

You also get a 30 month warranty with a purchase of the Pine Beat outdoor speaker, which indicates this is the type of outdoor speaker that looks like it’ll last for some time.
