macOS Sequoia 15.5 is now available for download, the latest Mac update and likely the last before Apple debuts macOS 16 at WWDC next month. Here’s what to expect.
macOS 15.5 adds Mail enhancements plus new Screen Time feature and security fixes
Apple just launched a new wave of software updates, including iOS 18.5, watchOS 11.5, and more.
macOS Sequoia 15.5 is the latest update available for Mac users.
New features across this x.5 software wave are especially light. Likely this is due to Apple shifting engineering resources toward preparing its major new OS versions to be unveiled in a few weeks.
Here are Apple’s release notes for macOS 15.5:
This update includes enhancements, bug fixes, and security updates for your Mac.
- Parents now receive a notification when the Screen Time passcode is used on a child’s device
Some features may not be available for all regions, or on all Apple devices.
Fortunately, though Apple doesn’t list them, there are a couple other small improvements in the update too.
Apple’s Mail app got some upgrades recently in macOS 15.4, including inbox categorization and design enhancements.

In macOS 15.5, there are two new Mail features:
- a fifth category, ‘All Mail,’ is now available to the right of Promotions
- and you can right-click a category to enable or disable contact photos
They’re small changes, but ultimately provide users more options for customizing the setup of Mail to their liking.
