The MacCuff mini is a super-simple product, but it’s clear that a lot of thought went into its design. The first thing I noticed is that, although it’s comprised of steel, there are no sharp edges that present a cutting risk. If you’ve ever used similar, cheaper products, your mileage may vary in terms of how much effort went into keeping the metal edges smooth.

The MacCuff mini is also designed specifically for the M4 Mac mini. This isn’t some one-size-fits-all solution, as all of the cutouts and the way it fits around the machine have tight tolerances that take into account the Mac mini’s form factor. The unit also makes sure to keep all of the ports clear, and features a cutout for the power button on the bottom of the Mac mini.

With its wraparound design and steel locking bar, the MacCuff mini is not only made to mount your Mac mini, but to do so in a secure way that will help prevent theft. The locking bar rests tightly across the top of the Mac mini, while the bottom of the computer fits into the mount’s recessed hole so that it doesn’t obscure the air intake or exhaust ports. Sonnet also made sure to keep the plastic bottom cover of the Mac mini free since that’s the area where the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi antennas reside.

With the MacCuff mini, users can mount the M4 Mac mini underneath a desk, on a wall, or even on the back of a monitor, assuming that it has standard VESA screw holes available. Sonnet includes all of the screws you’ll need, a set of 4 non-marring stickers to place over the screws, and also includes a cable management clip to attach to the side of the mount.

Yes, the MacCuff mini is a simple device, but it’s well thought out, and makes it easy to reclaim precious desktop space. The Mac mini, with its tiny form factor, is the perfect candidate for under-desk mounting, and the MacCuff mini makes it easy.
