As is per standard from FiiO, they are launching a tranche of products, and at Munich High End they’ll be offering a first public look at the FT7 and K17 headphones.

Following on from the FT5 model (and seemingly skipping FT6), FiiO describe the FT7 as being the “ideal partner” for its K19 headphone amplifier, with its design and components chosen for its “sonic performance and longevity” whether that’s the use of Zebrawood Grille detailing for the headphones’ appearance to the (rather large) 106mm planar drivers.

It weighs a considerable 427g, though FiiO implies that it’s a lightweight design for a planar headphone. The earpads are made from lambskn and suede (so vegans probably need not apply here).

It’ll cost £699 / $800 when it goes on sale later in 2025, and pre-orders are open now at Advanced MP3.

The FX17 in-earphone comes with several drivers in the form of a dynamic driver, four balanced armature drivers and eight electrostatic drivers on each side.

A five-way (!) crossover has been “precisely tuned to balance energy distribution” among the drivers to ensure that each one performs in its optimal condition to create a bigger soundstage and more natural sound.

The use of electrostatic drivers to offer high and uldtra frequencies above 6kHz, the dynamic driver helps to reproduce high-frequency signals with rapid vibrations, while the Knowles balanced armature driver composite units covers mid and high-frequency sounds.

The FX17’s cable uses gold, silver, and copper materials to help reduce transmission loss across the length of the cable and improved sound; while at the end of the cable the FX17 terminates in one of three audio plugs: 3.5mm single-ended, 4.4mm balanced and a Type-C connector with built-in digital decoding and DSP.

The latter allows you to listen high-quality audio with the built-in DSP audio decoding chip supporting up to 32Bit/384kHz high-resolution PCM. It also means that the FX17 can be used with USB-C compatible Android and iPhone models.

This in-ear will be priced at £1399 / $1499. Technically, the FX17 appeared to go on sale in April but currently it’s listed as available for pre-order.
