A SHOPPER claims that a Dollar General store has repeatedly and deliberately overcharged her and another shopper at the checkout.

The major retailer, which operates 19,643 discount stores across the US and Mexico, was slammed on social media for its staff behavior and checkout inaccuracies.

The indignant shopper wrote on Facebook: “The Dollar General Store in Otego, beware!

“For anyone who shops here make sure you check your receipt before leaving their store!

She proceeded to write that she was overcharged on two separate visits – once for extra loaves of bread and another time for a duplicate item scan.

The shopper said she pointed it out to the staff at the register, who initially denied it – but then corrected the mistake after she pushed the employee to check his screen.

She also claimed a friend who shops at the same store discovered an overcharge for two apple juices – charged $3.50 – and received a refund without asking to see her receipt.

The shopper wrote at the end of the long post: “How many times have they been doing this to their customers and pocketing all that money.

“They do a small amount item so they don’t think we notice it and by the end of the day they are making out great.”

“Also on the receipt it says a different name then their own on all three different purchases.

“Today for my friend, she said she had a male cashier and the receipt had a female’s name on it.

“I guess a phone call to their corporate office will be made.”

One user responded to the post, writing: “The same thing happened to me at the Sidney family Dollar.

“I bought the plastic Easter bunnies that were two pieces that you snapped together.

“Never noticed til I got home that the male cashier charged for me for nines of them.”

It comes after Dollar General was recently forced to apologize after a shopper was blocked from walking down an aisle – while she claimed employees chatted at the cash registers.

Her post was accompanied by four pictures that showed numerous cages and products blocking the way in the middle of an aisle.

The retailer was quick to issue an apology for the scene.

Spokesperson Nadia replied to the customer: “We’re sorry for any negative experience, Paula.”

She also asked for Paula to provide “more details” in a private message so the situation could be investigated further.
